I’d like to share a personal story that has had a profound impact on my life, along with some resources that might benefit you as well.

Some time ago, I crossed paths with someone who truly changed my perspective.

This individual was not only working but also running a business simultaneously. They challenged me with a simple yet powerful phrase I will never forget:

‘Just Do It.’

Mindset Matters:

While it may remind you of the Nike slogan, its meaning goes far beyond that.

It made me realize that instead of endlessly planning, I needed to take action and go after my dreams.

Now, let me be clear — I have always been a planner. I meticulously scheduled my days, down to the hour, using calendars, plans, and schedules. While this level of organization can be valuable, it can also become a crutch if we rely on it too heavily.

To break free from this pattern, I started taking risks.

Even though fear consumed me. I was afraid of not being smart enough, driven enough, or socially adept enough — the list seemed endless. But then, I adopted a simple philosophy:

‘Why not just try?’

This mindset applies to countless situations because I often found myself paralyzed by indecision or not knowing where to start.

The truth is, you’ll never know until you try.

And who cares if you stumble along the way? If a friendship doesn’t work out or you embarrass yourself, the important thing is that you took a chance and gained valuable lessons from the experience.

Here’s what changed…

I began venturing into new territories. I started writing articles, something I never thought I would do. I’m currently developing a startup based on an app idea. I even launched a podcast, fulfilling a long-held aspiration.

By stepping out of my comfort zone, I made new friends, simply by reaching out and inviting them for coffee. I had the privilege of meeting an Olympic cyclist who taught me invaluable lessons about work ethic.

Action Steps:

You cannot change your life without embracing new experiences and trying new things. If there’s something you desire, it is your responsibility to pursue it.

Start by asking yourself, ‘What am I afraid of?’ Often, our fears hold the key to what we truly desire. Lean into that fear — it will guide your first steps.

Consider finding a mentor or a hero who can inspire and guide you on your journey. Resources like ADP List can help connect you with potential mentors.

Remember, putting yourself out there can lead to unexpected opportunities.

Conclusion:

When you have an idea or something you’ve always wanted to do, instead of dwelling on it, take action and ask yourself, ‘Why the hell not?’

By adopting the ‘Why Not’ Rule, you’ll open doors to a world of possibilities. Start with small, actionable steps each day to become the person you aspire to be.

Don’t hesitate — embrace the mindset of ‘Why Not’ and see where it takes you.”

You got this,
